There is not a lot to report on this week.  Just a few announcements and updates.  I look forward to seeing you all next week to discuss your child's progress.  Please check the conference schedule that went home in folders today.  This is the schedule I sent to the office for their reference. 

• We are just missing a few permission slips for the play next week.  Please send that in if you haven't already.
• We started FastForword today.  Students will demo the programs this week and then take the pretest.  Let me know if you have any questions.
• We continue to work on our 3 Branches of Government presentations.  Each group is reading about the Constitution or the Executive Branch in our Guided Reading groups.  They are soaking it all up.  I think we have some future politicians in this class!
• In Math we are working on the partial sums algorithm.  If you are confused about this algorithm let me know.  There is a great tutorial that I can send you.  I tell the students that this algorithm will really help them when they learn about double digit multiplication in third grade.  Even if your child has a secure understanding of double digit addition with carrying, please practice this algorithm. 
• It is cold!!!  Dress warm and in layers.  Our classroom has a special talent for going from freezing to boiling in a manner of minutes.  A true, 100 year old building talent.  I believe Room 204 comes by this honestly...
