Curriculum Night: Thank you for nearly perfect attendance! It is amazing what a difference it makes when parents are involved. Thanks for taking the time to come out and learn about your child's year. Reading: We are working on summaries this week in Reading. We went over our first reading test today. I did not score the written portion of the test, but read them. We discussed how to write short answers with beginnings, middles and ends that support our main idea.
Writing: We are working on descriptive writing. We are working on a paragraph describing a special friend or pet.
Math: We continue to work on place value-as you will see in the homework packet this week. We are also working on number patterns.
Social Studies: We learned how to read a grid map.
Scholastic Book Orders: Your child came home with a book order packet and instructions on how to order online. You can use the link provided on the left. The directions are attached to the flyers. Ordering is always optional. If you prefer to order books "the old fashioned way" please send payment in the form of cash or a check made out to me. I will place the order online for you and get the points for our class. Thanks.
School Announcements: You should have received information about our Fun Run Fundraiser! It sounds like it will be a great time! Tell your child to lace up and call grandma for pledges!
