Reading: We are working on character, setting and plot. Ask your child what "plot" means.
And-check out our Silent Reading Stamina Chart! Each day we had an opportunity to silently read we charted how many minutes we read WITHOUT ANY INTERRUPTIONS. Our goal was 25 minutes. Now that we've met our goal we will start centers. I'm so proud of this group of students for reaching the goal so quickly. They are an avid bunch of readers!Writing: We are focusing on organizing our writing into beginnings, middles and ends.
Social Studies: We are learning about groups and communities and why those groups have rules. We will learn about urban areas, suburban areas and rural areas.
Math: We are working on place value and counting patterns this week. Be sure to keep practicing telling time.
