February 19th-23

Fun Fair is this weekend!  I hope to see you all there!  Here are a few highlights!

• We have 4 teams for Pie in the Face this year!  (Bring in those coins and fill up the jugs.)
• Irving's Got Talent!  Come see some new and old acts!
• Cake Walk!
• Bid on a pizza lunch with me and 3 friends at the silent auction.
• Our class basket will be amazing!
• Who doesn't love the games in the gym?
  And lot's more!

3 Branches of Government Project:  Please help your child get to District 97's homepage.  Have your child log in to use the google tools and show you theThree Branches of Government presentation.  The purpose of this project was to practice using the technology as well as demonstrate what we know.  Spelling was  checked by 4th grade buddies.

Homework:  The focus is on reading this week.  After reading for 20 minutes your child should complete a simple book report.  Also, please practice state abbreviations.  It is clear the students are learning the states, but are mislabeling them.  If you need an extra abbreviation sheet, let me know.  (Kentucky is KY, not KT.  There is a typo on the sheet.)

Math:  Ask your child about parallel lines and try to find them around the house.  Then try to find polygons that have parallel lines in them.

Writing:  We are writing expository books about something that we are experts on.  We will have a glossary, a diagram and 2 paragraphs.

Social Studies:  We will take our branches of government test this week.
