I hope everyone had a great Spring Break! The students came back well rested and ready to work. We are super busy!
Reading: We are learning about a character's point of view this week as we read fiction stories. We are also learning about how diagrams can help us understand a text in our non-fiction reading.
Writing: We are writing opinion letters about the new Irving playground. We are supporting our opinions with details.
Math: We are working on subtraction with regrouping and also working on some multiplication and division concepts.
Science: Students are working really hard to answer our BIG question: What makes some things sink and some things float? We have done a few experiments and so far we have discovered that the material an object is made out of will affect buoyancy.
Homework: Homework packets will continue through April. ( In May the students will receive a calendar of assignments. ) As Spring sports and good weather begin to take over afternoon homework time, please let me know if you need more time to do the packet.
Reminders:
-Don't forget to register for the Academic Fair and Egg Drop if you are interested.
-PTO officer election is this Thursday. There are a few openings. Please consider volunteering for these important positions. We have a great school because of our wonderful volunteers!
-Dental consent forms should be returned even if you don't want to participate.
